Tazewell-Woodford Head Start is seeking a classroom-aide for the upcoming school year. Hours will be Monday-Friday 9-2 daily, and follow the Tazewell-Woodford Head Start Staff Calendar. A classroom aide will assist a lead teacher and teacher assistant in various duties in the Head Start classroom with children 3-5 years; including circle time, planned large and small groups, family style served meals and snacks, rest-time, and will fill in for the teacher/assistant during breaks. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a current physical(within 6 months), including up-to-date TB, and proof of immunizations (MMR and TDap). Qualifications: Must have experience and/or formal training in management skills. Must have a valid driver’s license, adequate car insurance, and reliable transportation. Must have education and/or experience in a nutrition related field. Must currently hold or complete training for a Food Safety and Sanitation Certificate. Major duties include implementation of a nutritional program that meet the needs and requirements for each child including accommodations for medically based diets. Maintaining of proper documentation, licensing, Health Department codes and planning menus that meet Health and Nutritional qualifications for program. Must prepare and serve meals and snacks that provide at a minimum 2/3 of a child’s daily nutritional needs. Supervision of classroom food monitoring, as well as maintaining current records to meet quality and compliance with CACFP and Tazewell-Woodford Head Start Program protocol. Tazewell-Woodford Head Start is currently seeking a full-time teacher assistant position for the 2021-2022 school year. Qualifications Must be at least 19 years of age have a high school diploma or equivalent. A CDA or be enrolled in a CDA program to be completed in one year, or have an Associate degree in ECE or related, with experience working with young children. Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation. Must have a current physical including TB and medical vaccinations (MMR, Tdap). All applicants will have to complete a DCFS background clearance and have 3 letters of reference (not a relative).

A qualified candidate must be at least 19 years of age, have at minimum an associate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development with experience working with children preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in ECE or a related field from an accredited college or university. Applicants must also consent to a DCFS background check and have an up-to-date physical, including TB, and medical vaccinations (MMR and Tdap).
